American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure! Coming Up! April 18th 2009
I am a volunteer member for Tour de Cure here in San Diego, and I love being part of such a supportive event. All of the planning and the meetings and the headaches are totally worth it on ride day. There are a ton of riders with diabetes, but there are even more riders who are there because they support someone with diabetes. I am so excited that this year, they are finally honoring the people who ride with diabetes that day with the Red Rider program. All people with diabetes who ride in Tour de Cure San Diego this year will get a free red jersey that says “I ride with diabetes.” If you check out that youtube link, you’ll see that this creates a ton of positive energy on ride day - it gives people a great visual of why they are up at the crack of dawn to pedal 30, 70, or 100 miles.
